So, Amber and I had a really big decision to make as a couple this weekend… and ended up not agreeing.  I’ll set the stage.  We were at the Publix on Collier Rd. near Howell Mill following a great dinner with friends to finish off the weekend.  Pretty quickly, we noticed that there was a very determined “daddy shopper” speeding up and down the aisles, pushing his cart at breakneck speed… with his infant strapped to his back in the, “me and my 6 month old are about to climb Everest” backpack with a look in his eyes that screamed, “if you get between me and the couscous I am going to run you over like a freight-train.”

So what was the “Big Weekend Decision” you ask?  Amber noticed that he had the waist and in-seam sticker from his pants still on his leg.  To tell or not to tell?  I was in the, “let his wife point that out this evening” camp.  However, Amber was in the, “Hey sir, you have a sticker on your pants and you’ve probably had a stick on your pants all day” camp. Unfortunately for me, Amber decided to tell him without consulting me first… which led to me laughing at the impending awkwardness right when she told him… which he saw… leading to full on awkwardness.

So here is the question.  Would you tell or not?

~Sam

The Amber Version:

The guy had a sticker on his leg!!  If I have spinach in my teeth, a “bat in the cave,” “plane in the hanger,” “barn door open,”  insert your favorite metaphor for an uncomfortable situation here, I’d like to know.  Just tell me, really.  It’s no big deal.  And I’d like to limit the rest of the people who see me this way, so get it over with…like a bandaid, just rip it off.  No need to soak it in baby oil first…just rip.   (sidenote: This only applies to the aforementioned scenarios.  Generally, I am pretty thin skinned.)

So, that’s why I told him.  And I did NOT laugh.  It wasn’t funny to me…just a fellow human being throwing another human being a little bone.  He didn’t seem to mind…until Sam laughed…and then I did notice to awkwardness when we ran into him a few more times.  Eye contact was averted.

So, I would also to know…Would you tell or not?
