Who can help themselves from quoting the Fresh Prince on a day like today? I’m taking one of my gazillion days off that I get at PwC to spend a Friday with Amber and Coltan prior to Amber heading off to Drive rehearsal this afternoon. The day has gone a little like this -
Wake up, and grab a cup of decafe… play with Coltan and Amber… put Coltan down for nap #1… set up new grill Amber got me for our anniversary (I could smell the Sweet Baby’s Ray’s BBQ sauce sizzling on some burgers as I set it up)… wake Coltan up and feed him his lunch (mushed avacado and peas - yum)… Amber, Coltan and I walked a mile(ish) to chick-fil-a for some lunch and milkshake for the walk back… all with the sounds of Whitfield Academy’s field day echoing in our ears… Summer… game on.
PS - Amber and I are also trying to figure out a decent beach to hit up this summer with Coltan… any suggestions? We’re thinking condo/house rental (pool option would be sweet) walking distance to the beach.
We’re big Kiawah Island fans. Pretty remote. There aren’t crowds and it’s a nature preserve with more bike trails than roads. They have everything from hotels to 10 bedroom houses to rent. It’s great. Viva la Summer!
If it’s in the budget, there’s not a better place on this side of the country than Watercolor Resort in Florida. Some great friends sent us a few times and I’d go anytime I could.
